What are good science fiction books to read for someone who want to start reading them so nothing that complicated so more character based than hard science thanks in advance.

Cory Doctorow wrote Little Brother. It is not hard science. It is free since he believes in Creative Commons.

In the 4-part Dangerous Days series by J. William Turner, books 3 & 4 Outback Heroes and Enemies Within available on Kindle. The mystery behind a car-bombing in paris and the kidnapping of an English girl in the Australian desert in Outback Heroes is solved in Enemies Within.
If you don’t have a Kindle, the whole Dangerous Days series is available as one novel inside a hardcover by mail order.

I love Christian fantasy and seeing the truths and lessons I can get out of it. I’ve read the Chronicles of Narnia, the Lord of the Rings, the Dragon Keeper Series (by Donita K. Paul), Auralia’s Colors, the Door Within Trilogy, and Dragons in our Midst. I was wondering if anybody out there knows of any more good Christian fantasy books for older teens. And please don’t write anything mean please, anybody. Thank you!
First, to the person who stated Lord of the Rings is not Christian, you are mistaken. In fact, Tolkien repeatedly identified Christian themes in Lord of the Rings. For example, in a letter, Tolkien made the following statement: “The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work, unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision…the religious element is absorbed into the story and symbolism.” Far from making a stupid assumption, Kittycat was actually coming into agreement with the author’s own perspective of his work.
