They don’t have to …
They don’t have to do much of anything right now to beat it, they are 2 completely different devices. Plus the ipad is pretty limited in the quantity of books compared to amazon or B&N. Most people aren’t going to be buying an iPad for the ebooks, as long reading of books is much better on an e-ink screen because of less eye strain. Now if the iPad had a Pixel Qi screen that would be another matter…

No, I expect the …
No, I expect the same as ANY OTHER ebook reader that doesn’t use the e-ink software..
There are MANY other ebook readers that are years older and hundereds of dollars less than the kindle that have seamless page turning..
Even the smartphone I use now (a cell phone, not at all made for FPS games) has seamless page turning in 10 diffrent ebook reading programs.. The kindle is useless feature rich, but when it comes to funcion, it is worse than readers a third the price and years older.

haha maybe.

lol what did you expect? 0.0001 ms response time? this is a device for reading books not for playing fps games!!!
It would be a great device if only it would be cheaper.

“I mean does anyone buy books that’s not from Amazon?”
Yes, of course.
Google “free ebooks”
or search “ebooks” on eBay.
You can buy something like 17,000
(yes, that’s seventeen THOUSAND)
public domain books on DVD for around $30.00
and stick them in your Kindle.

i like books more! …
i like books more! their great new paper smell, their nice spines and covers. It’s nice to see peoplle on the subway reading a book and starting a conversation about the book, because you’ve also read it.
I love doing into a book store and look at the different colors of the book covers and I also like that every book is unique.

When you change …
When you change pages on any e-ink device (kindel is one) the screen flashes, it goes black for half a second, then renders the next page. It is very lame.
If you want an ebook reader get an ebookwize
If you want a wireless downloading handheld, get a smartphone. (HTC or something as good)
February 15th, 2010 at 3:17 am
Can you explain how …

You know Electronic books is a great concept, but it lacks the ability to network all the other companies together so that people can universally use the device they like, I mean does anyone buy books that’s not from Amazon?
