Two REALLY GOOD books (Probably the best 2 I've ever read), are by Ted Dekker... They are 100% Christian, but you don't always find that out until the end... I've read Blink and Thr3e and the story line, plot and everything just fits so well and neatly... I definitely recommend these two books, as well as all the other books by him, for you. They are on Amazon.com, if you're interested, and his website is www.teddekker.com.
References :
YAY :P

Read some testimony books. I love them. Also watch the testimony of this guy: http://aglimpseofeternity.org/

Hannah - I have read that and love it. The vicar wrote a book too which is called The Cross and the Switchblade by Run Baby Run was better.

Have you got The One Year Bible? It breaks the Bible down day by day for 365 days. I can send you one if you like just email me.
References :
Anything from Augsburg Fortress Publishers. ( http://augsburgfortress.org ) However, I might be a bit biased as I'm a member of the ELCA and some of the bigger authors like Mark Allen Powell, are people with whom I'm acquainted. (I did not have the privelege of taking any of Mr. Powell's classes, though I could have audited, though my husband had to take many of his classes while in seminary.) Also, Martin E. Marty is a good author, too.

One thing I don't like about the selections at the bookstores, especially places like Wal-Mart, is that they are the pop-culture Christian themes of the moment, whatever will sell. Most of them are authored by the TV preachers and fundies, it seems. They might be good stuff, but perhaps not sustainable. (For example, "The Purpose Driven Life". I have not read the book, but I read the articiles that the author did in "Ladies Home Journal." The underlying theme seemed to be, "If you do this, and God will do that". Instead of, "Saved by grace through faith and our response to that is that we want to do good works.")

I also recommend anything by C.S. Lewis and Billy Graham.

If my books weren't in boxes in a storage garage (the joys of living with the in-laws) I could give you a nice list.
