What is the name of a collection of 1950’s childrens books about an old woman who gives rememdies to kids?

It’s sort of an old, black and white-y, 1950’s-ish set of children’s books about an old,plump widow living next to all sorts of kids. She gives them and their parents remedies, potions, and has adventures at her house. I have no idea of the title or author, but i am desperate to know them.

i want 2 publish a few of the books ive written but don’t know of any good publishers.im not 18 though,can any 1 tell me of a good publishing company for some1 under 18?

Authors are made – not born at the first sign of christening and as long as you can write and pull off a manuscript at an early age of what, 6, you can be a published author.

Not everyone has the courage to face the publishing industry even if their literature is highly recommended for public consumption. Because you already have your materials, the next thing you might decide on doing is to find a publisher who will be your retailer, publisher, editor and distributor at the same time – which is of course not that easy to find.

Supposedly, A Wizard of Mars by Diane Duane and Fall of Light by Nina Kiriki Hoffman are going to be published sometime in 2008, but there are no entries for them in Amazon or on Ace books, which is supposed to be publishing Hoffman’s new book.

omg i love diane duane i have been waiting for her new book for years. it suppose ot come out in the fall of 2008 which is getting closer each day. i havent heard of the other author , but if it says coming out in 2008 then its coming out 2008 unless they change it. hopefully they dont.

Where can you sell used junior high level books?

I have a ton of books that I have had since I was in junior high, and I finally decided to clean out my shelves. Many of these have been former library books, but they are still in good condition. I am just wondering what websites/places will buyback used books without much hassle?

If you have a "Half-Priced" book store in your area, check with them. They will buy what they think they will be able to sell. Have you ever thought of donating them to the library or a middle school?

Why don’t you try to read some Fathers of the church, great theologians translated and adapted in modern language? Christian literature is two thousands years old and has unknown treasures in store for people who are curious about it.

I’ve learnt beginner level spanish recently and want to read spanish fiction books for enjoyment. Which books will be appropriate for my reading level?

Try The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, its a good book and itx light and easy reading you can pick up the book in english to if you have any questions baout what it says in spanish

I’m an 8th grade girl, so nothing that’s 1000 pages long or has a bunch of SAT words in it.

My favorite books are Of Mice and Men, and A Clockwork Orange.

I’m also interested in graphic novels, but I still need some ideas that could count as school reading material. I can get bored of books pretty easily so I need a book with an engaging plot and characters. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have a box of paperback books that have a ‘mildew" odor. What can be done to remove it?

These books have been enclosed in a cardboard storage box which I don’t believe ever got wet.

You want to get them in the sun and enclose them with baking soda in a sealed container.

Get old deli or margarine tubs poke a few holes in the top fill with baking soda and seal the boxes. It will take a few days for the odor to disappear completely. If you find visible mold put them in the freezer to kill it.
