Poe never wrote a mystery novel. That was left to later authors.

He wrote a series of short stories which set up most of the known types and formulas of the mystery stories.

1) Murders in the Rue Morgue, his first short story, introduces Dupin, his detective. It's a locked room mystery.

2) The Purloined Letter, in which an object is hidden and must be found.

3) The Mystery of Marie Roget, a story where Poe used a real-life murder mystery as his jumping off point.

Two other stories are often called part of Poe's mystery tradition.

4) The Gold Bug

5) Thou Art the Man
References :
He didn't really write whole mystery books, per se, but he did write short stories like 'The Murders in the Rue Morgue' and 'The Purloined Letter'. His detective was Auguste Dupin.
