I have a box of paperback books that have a ‘mildew" odor. What can be done to remove it?

These books have been enclosed in a cardboard storage box which I don’t believe ever got wet.

You want to get them in the sun and enclose them with baking soda in a sealed container.

Get old deli or margarine tubs poke a few holes in the top fill with baking soda and seal the boxes. It will take a few days for the odor to disappear completely. If you find visible mold put them in the freezer to kill it.

But them in a plastic bag (trash bag whatever) and place several bars of new opened Safeguard soap in with them and seal them shut for a week or so. This will remove the odor.
